a truly french golf experience
Champs de Bataille is routed through hills covered with a mature hardwood forest northwest of Paris, and is an integral part of an historic 16th century chateau estate whose gardens were originally laid out by Andre le Notre, who designed the gardens at Versailles.
Nelson & Haworth teamed up with French Landscape Architects Thierry Huau and Herve Rosset to incorporate the golf course into the French "Grand Design" of chateau estate planning. The golf course is unique in this respect and has been embraced by the local golfing population as a truly "french" golf course.
Voted "Finest Course in Normandy" by European Golf Magazine 2005: "A truly impressive championship course set in an exceptional natural and historical environment, Champ de Bataille has often been compared with Wentworth and Woburn. Ranked among top 25 finest golf courses in France, the course is set in 370 acres of historic forest and parkland and takes full advantage of natural features such as valleys, lakes, centuries-old trees, impressive clusters of rhododendrons and ferns all poised to challenge your skills and concentration."
