Mimosa Golf & Country Club
RISING FROM THE ASHES
This 36-hole championship golf facility was reconstructed from the ashes of the 1991 eruption of Mount Pinatubo, which virtually destroyed the huge US airbase at Clark Field.
The original 18-hole course was buried under 5 feet of ash and debris from the volcano. Nelson & Haworth re-designed the entire facility around the magnificent Raintrees (Saman Samanea) that survived the disaster. The first 27 holes were creatively designed and constructed within 11 months. Both the Mountainview and the Resort Course are two of the most popular courses in the country and both are recognized in the top-5 golf courses in the Philippines.
